Things will be getting spruced up in downtown Red Bud, as on July 1, the city council approved both the façade grant pilot program and a mural ordinance.
The council has been discussing and fine tuning the details of the façade program for several meetings now. The biggest detail being that of funding.
At the June committee meetings, the council considered three different funding proposals which would utilize either interest from some of the city’s CDs, sales tax revenue or gaming revenues. Ultimately, they decided at that meeting to try out a one year pilot program using a total of $60,851 in CD interest to fund it.
