A proposal to rename one of the high school’s gyms and school calendar updates were discussed at the Feb. 20 Red Bud Board of Education meeting.
Representatives from the Red Bud Musketeers Booster Association and the Musketeer Hall of Fame Committee were on hand to talk about the idea of renaming the high school’s old gym after Sandy Griffin.
Griffin is a former head volleyball coach for Red Bud High School. Her coaching accomplishments included two third place state finishes, two elite eights and over 500 career wins. Her 1974-75 team made history by competing in the first ever IHSA state tournament, going in as the team from the smallest school, and taking home third place.
