Within the past week, two meetings have been held by the Prairie du Rocher School Board concerning what to do with Dr. Margo Schmitt.
Schmitt, who came to the local area from Des Plaines, had been hired as the school’s new superintendent over the summer. However, on Sept. 28, the board held a special meeting where they approved of suspending her.
The specifics of the suspension were not made public, but at the time, Board President Amanda Chandler noted that the length of the suspension and the action the board would take was pending an investigation.
Since then, the board has been working on trying to get a separation agreement approved.
