Opening ceremonies for new bridge will be held this Saturday

It’s been years in the making, but this Saturday, July 11 the Missouri and Illinois Departments of Transportation will finally host a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of a new bridge crossing the Mississippi by Chester.

The ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Don Welge Memorial Bridge will take place at 11 a.m. on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River at the newly constructed bridge.
