The Red Bud baseball team continued the campaign last Tuesday against the Rockets of Okawville, and came up short again.
The Musketeers scored six runs behind starter Will Simpson, but couldn’t match Okawville’s offense. The Rockets were able to get five in the third off of Simpson and had another five run inning in the sixth to seal the deal. Okawville was able to manage a run in every inning but one. Red Bud also spread their runs out as they scored in almost every inning, but never reached more than two runs in a single inning. One of the one run innings came from a Devin Hall solo home run, his first of the year. At the end of the day, Red Bud had collected almost as many hits as Okawville and kept errors and walks low, all encouraging signs.
