Last week the Red Bud Musketeers boys basketball team played only one game with Christmas right around the corner. They played at home against the Carlyle Indians and it was a fun game to watch. Red Bud was looking to rebound after a couple of losses the previous weekend they showed that motivation out of the gate. Almost immediately junior guard Owen Liefer blew right past a defender with an explosive first step that led to an easy lay in. Senior Nick Gantner knocked down a triple, and then there were several fast breaks leading to buckets by the Musketeers. Sophomore guard Trent Sternberg led the team in scoring after the first quarter with six points, and the Musketeers held a 17-13 lead.
