Miller’s Meat Market in Red Bud named recipient of USDA grant

Miller’s Meat Market in Red Bud is one of six meat processors in the state of Illinois that was recently awarded a grant through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

It was announced on Sept. 21 that each facility would receive $200,000 (with a total of $1.2 million split between the six facilities) in federal funding to upgrade and expand their operations.

According to FarmWeek, these grants are part of a larger $21.9 million awarded last week to 111 projects across 37 states through the Meat and Poultry Inspection Readiness Grant Program (MPIRG).
