At their August meeting, the Sparta School District Board discussed the idea of consolidating the district’s two elementary schools – Evansville Attendance Center and Sparta Lincoln.
It was noted that District Superintendent Chris Miesner presented a feasibility report that considered the idea. The majority of the committee that had written the report was in favor of consolidation.
No action was taken at that meeting, but the board agreed to hold three public meetings about the possibility of consolidation. Miesner confirmed to the North County News this week that no public hearing dates have been set at this time.
