Due to the recent rainfall the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam is going back to normal lock operations for recreational vessels starting Nov. 4.
Please keep in mind that river conditions are not normal. The pool is down to account for the extra rain received and there is drift throughout the channel. Be careful, wear life jackets, and please keep this in mind if going out on the river.
Also, the Mississippi River has come up enough to open the lower boat ramp at the lock and dam. It will remain open as long as the Mississippi River at Chester remains above 10 feet.
