
The U.S. Kids Golf World Championships was held July 31 to Aug. 1 at Pinehurst, North Carolina. Qualifying for the prestigious event a year ago is 11 year old Charlie Liefer of Red Bud.
This pinnacle event hosts over 1,600 players ages 5-12 from more than 50 countries. Charlie competed against 150 young golfers in the 11 year old division. His 18 hole score on day one was 76, four over par. On day two, he fired a 73, one over par. For his final round Charlie finished with a 77, five over par under wet conditions. In 54 holes, he carded six birdies on the Talamore course, playing the ball down in the championship event. His three day score of 226 gave him the title of 50th in the world for his age division.
