Lady Musketeers are regional champions

REGIONAL CHAMPIONS–The varsity softball team won the regional championship game against Chester on May 23. Red Bud defeated the Lady Yellow Jackets 10-0 in five innings to claim the title. The team will face Carterville on Wednesday for the first round of the Murphysboro sectional. The championship game is scheduled for noon on Saturday. The postseason started last week as the softball Musketeers faced the Nashville Hornets for the regional semifinal on May 20.

Red Bud secured a huge 13-3 win over the Lady Hornets. Olivia Geralds was the winning pitcher and had a great game. She did a great job and achieved nine strikeouts.

On offense, Olivia also had a solid game at the plate, going 4/4. Peyton Kreher, Julia Whelan and Lydia Koesterer also collected multiple hits for the team. Overall, the team had a solid game to advance to the regional championship.
