It’s been a long time coming, but the day many had been waiting for finally arrived last week as ground was officially broken at the Randolph County Care Center in Sparta on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The Randolph County Commissioners have been working for several years to determine the future of the facility. The facility has become very outdated and the amount of residents there has decreased over the years. It needed renovations to improve the quality of life for residents.
The commissioners were considering ways to utilize the space to better serve the community, and came up with the idea of adding a much needed behavioral health care facility into the back half of the building.
