NEW RESCUE TOOLS–Local firefighters are pictured saving another firefighter “victim” in a simulated grain bin by utilizing a rescue tube and auger. These new lifesaving tools and the training for them were provided by donations from several businesses.

On Sunday, a specialized training was held at the Red Bud Fire Department for several area departments.

Firemen from Red Bud, Baldwin, Ellis Grove and Marissa received grain bin rescue training provided by the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety. In addition, the Red Bud Fire Department was given the grain bin rescue tube and auger utilized in that day’s training.
