Fatal motorcycle crash by Ruma Sunday night

A Waterloo man was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident late on Sunday.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office on May 18 at 8:11 p.m., Roger D. Strong, 64, of Waterloo, was driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Mill Road. Approximately two-tenths of a mile east of First Road (Ruma area), the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch to the north. It traveled in the ditch approximately 142 feet until coming to rest.

Randolph County Coroner Tracy Vallett stated that at 8:50 p.m. Strong was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
