Evansville’s fire chief delivered some bad news on Monday night when discussing the fire department’s recent ISO rating.
Fire Chief Mike Hanna noted that they have been working on getting their ISO rating reviewed. This has involved him doing paperwork and even a video conference, but the end result is that their ISO rating will be going from 6 to 7. This change will raise homeowners’ insurance costs.
ISO ratings are determined by the ISO (Insurance Services Office), an independent organization which creates ratings for fire departments and their surrounding communities.
