Despite the rain on Monday, Sept. 23, a group came out to celebrate the completion of the replacement of a section of Broad Street in Evansville.
The Kaskaskia Regional Port District (KRPD) and the Village of Evansville held a barricade removal event to celebrate the project completion.
The road had been deteriorating for many years due to the heavy truck traffic that uses the main route through town. The two block section of Broad Street between Walnut and Maple Streets required a total rebuild, not just a patch. So the two block section was rebuilt using jointed reinforced concrete.
