Dispute over RBES expansion settled

Red Bud Elementary School has had quite a lot of growing pains over the past few years, but hopefully the pains have all been resolved.

Back in fall 2021, Ryan McClellan, who was the principal of the elementary school at the time, had made a request to the school board for an expansion. He stressed that they were out of room and needed additional space. He asked for a new gymnasium with a stage, as well as classrooms to house the STEM, art, band and chorus classes.

The board, which had discussed the idea in the past, thought it was time and approved of the request, and work soon began with Ittner/Cordogan Clark and Holland Construction on the project. Ground was broken on Oct. 20, 2022.
