Randolph County now up to 99 deaths
A COVID-19 update was the biggest part of the Oct. 15 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
“Cases have declined, which is a good sign,” noted Randolph County Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout. However, she also expressed concerns as winter is coming and that will mean more people will be indoors. She noted that everyone needs to remember to continue mitigation practices such as wearing masks and social distancing.
Oathout also reported that the health department is currently giving out first, second and booster doses of the vaccines. Currently the only vaccine approved for a booster dose is the Pfizer vaccine. She noted that hopefully boosters for both the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be approved soon.
