The commissioners approved of a proclamation that declared Oct. 13-17 as Home Extension Week, which commemorated 80 years of the Randolph County Home Bureau.

The bureau was founded in Randolph County in 1945 with 36 women. The organization has grown and changed over the years, being renamed as the Randolph County Association for Home and Community Education in 1996.
