Various updates were discussed with the commissioners during the public comments portion of the Jan. 31 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Mark Wilson was in attendance at the meeting. He recently took over the position of the county’s economic development director, following the retirement of Chris Martin.
Wilson reported that levee commissioners had met recently with various government officials, as well as some from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to discuss a large scour hole that is slowly eroding towards the levee by Fort de Chartres.
