Two new county positions were created and filled at the June 21 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Appointed as the Randolph County administrator was Carol Best, and appointed as the assistant administrator was Ashley Pickering. Both are four year terms, set to expire on Nov. 30, 2028.
“This is something we’ve been working on for a number of years,” Commissioner David Holder explained of the new positions. “Times have changed and so has record keeping for audits. So we looked at the concept of an administrator or finance officer.”
