Commissioners approve of DAR sign

Due to last week’s weather causing the Randolph County Courthouse to be closed, the Randolph County Board of Commissioners moved their meeting from Friday, Feb. 4 to Monday, Feb. 7. Among the items discussed at the meeting were a Daughters of the American Revolution plaque for the Randolph County Museum and that Randolph County Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout was resigning.

To speak on the plaque were Patsie Hopkins and Lori Hill from the Liberty Bell of the West chapter of DAR.

Hopkins noted that the group has been working on a national DAR project which will recognize the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence. The national organization has made available to chapters plaques that recognize the occasion and the patriots that helped make it happen.
