Commissioners approve annual budget

A resolution for a grant, along with the annual budget and related appropriation ordinances, was approved at the Dec. 1 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Board Chairman Marc Kiehna noted that the county is in the process of receiving a $500,000 grant from the Delta Regional Authority (DRA). He added that this is for the new behavioral health care center (which will be in the back part of the Randolph County Care Center) and that the DRA was “very pleased with the application.”

In particular, this grant will be used for infrastructure, including a parking lot and road improvements, for the new facility. Kiehna stated that the bid documents for this project should be done after the first of the year, then they can continue to move forward with the bidding.
