A vehicle vs. bicycle accident was reported in Red Bud on Friday night, and a fatal motorcycle accident was reported in the Breman/Steeleville area on Monday.
The Red Bud Police Department reported that at 8:50 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, Ryan M. Stamm, 36, of Red Bud, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet truck eastbound on East Market Street. As he turned left onto Orange Street, Stamm struck a bicycle ridden by Jeffery L. Herring, 46, of Red Bud.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 8:05 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, Raymond Ross, 63, of Percy, on a 2018 motorcycle was northbound on State Route 150 near Rabe’s Lane.
Ross’ motorcycle exited the roadway to the left. The tire caught in the soft ditch, causing it to overturn approximately four times before striking a utility pole and coming to rest west of the pole.
