Red Bud baseball started off last week’s action after a couple days of rainouts with senior night against New Athens. Senior Dustin Salger got what might have been the last start of a great pitching career and was sharp. Salger went six and a third allowing only two earned runs and striking out five. He unfortunately got no run support from his hitters as Red Bud only tallied five hits and could muster no runs. New Athens spoiled senior night and took this one, 4-0.
The last two games of the regular season were both played on Friday, as the boys started in Okawville and then got back on the bus to travel to Trenton to play Wesclin under the lights.
