Signs honoring Avery Smith’s fourth place finish at state went up recently in Red Bud.
Smith, a junior at Valmeyer who wrestles for Red Bud, took a fourth place win in the first ever IHSA Girls Wrestling Tournament this past spring.
She is the first wrestler from Red Bud to place at an IHSA tournament.
