An open house event was held on Aug. 4 to give the public a sneak peak of the Books for All Ruma Retreat Center.
In May of this year, it was announced that the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC) had sold their Ruma Center property buildings and 33 acres of land to the nonprofit organization Books for All. (ASC retained ownership of the surrounding farmland and the cemetery.)
The Ruma Center had been vacant since April 2022 when the sisters relocated to the Benedictine Living Community-At The Shrine on the campus of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville.
