Musketeers opened season against Nashville last week

by Cooper DeSpain

The season opener for Musketeer baseball was March 18 against Nashville. The 2026 team includes four seniors this year with Seth Hohgrefe, middle infield and pitcher; Tyson Bohnert, second base and pitcher; Jackson Miller, catcher and first base and manager, Lucas Grohmann. There are 10 juniors and the strong 2027 class includes Landon Ruebusch, centerfield and pitcher; Brayden Schlesinger, first base; Ian Moll, catcher and second base; Landon Kilpatrick, pitcher; Lucas McCarthy, third base and pitcher; Cooper DeSpain, outfield; Barrett Wagner, outfield and pitcher; Justin Schmoll, outfield; Ty Voss, middle infield and pitcher and Colby Voss, shortstop and pitcher.

This year, the team looks to win the Cahokia Conference for the third year in a row and pursue a deep postseason run after last year’s season ended short. The team has a lot of chemistry from playing together in past years and summer ball teams. It should be a lot of fun this spring on the diamond. The projected record for the Teers is 25-11.
