Annual Eagle Fest returns to Lock and Dam March 7

The Kaskaskia River Project will host Kaskaskia Eagle Fest on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jerry F. Costello Lock and Dam, 4800 Lock and Dam Road, Modoc.

Visitors can watch bald eagles and attend live animal programs. World Bird Sanctuary will present programs featuring live birds at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Animalogy will present live animal programs at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Project staff will offer lock and dam tours at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m.

The event will also include vendors, a live flintknapping demonstration and kids’ crafts. Breakfast, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages will be available from a local vendor throughout the day while supplies last.
