The future of the Red Bud High School’s transition program was discussed at the Red Bud Board of Education’s Jan. 15 meeting.
Special education teachers Kayla Mueth and Bill Menn reported on the current status of the program and what they would like to see the program become in the future. They had recently attended a conference on the topic and checked out other districts’ transition programs and have some ideas that they want to implement here. These ideas will help not just the transition students, but the whole special education department.
First, they want to rename the program to RISE, which stands for Reaching (for) Independent Skills and Employment.
