Police respond to alleged threat at Red Bud High School last week

On Wednesday night, Aug. 20, Red Bud School District Superintendent Jonathan Tallman sent a notice to all school district parents to let them know about a threat that had been made at Red Bud High School.

He noted, “We were just informed that a student reported to a parent, and thankfully, that parent called us, that a student at the lunch table mentioned that it would be wise for those at the table not to come to school tomorrow. We immediately contacted the sheriff’s department because it is not a student in town, and they went to the house this evening. Our sheriff’s department is second to none, and they conducted a thorough investigation, and no weapons were found.”

Tallman continued, “These situations are extremely frustrating, and I will pursue options with our state’s attorney because, frankly, I am sick and tired of claims and threats of violence that disrupt the learning environment.”
