Kenneth and Joan Voges are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Dec. 26, 1961 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Walsh. They are the parents of Kathleen (Kalin) Liefer, Kevin (Lori, deceased) Voges and Kimberly (Robert) Davidson. They have 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Ken is the founder of Red Bud Industries and The Material Works. After retirement from the companies, he purchased and restored old buildings in the downtown areas. To his amazement, others followed in restoring their buildings and began beautifying the city.
Joan, having worked along side her husband at Red Bud Industries, is retired. Her love of music and Scripture is reflected in the Christian songs she has written, many of which are recorded. She is sharing this love of music in teaching piano to some of her great-grandchildren.
On Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, family joined the couple at St. John’s Lutheran Church for worship and in thankfulness to God for the blessings of 60 years. The Vogeses enjoy spending time together and with family and friends. They are planning to celebrate their anniversary with a dinner/dance at the Opera House Bistro.
