Anyone who knows a teacher who plans field trips to city hall, organizes community volunteer projects or invites veterans to speak in class is asked to nominate him/her for the Red Bud VFW Post 6632 Teacher of the Year award.
Teachers who promote civic responsibilities, flag etiquette and patriotism are prime candidates for the award. Candidates are judged on citizenship, innovation in the classroom, utilization of resources and passion toward teaching and patriotism.
