On Sept. 1, tickets went on sale for what could be the last performance on the Sparta Community Chorus stage.
The Sparta Community Chorus has been performing on their current stage within the Sparta Center for more than 26 years, and recently learned that they may be losing their home.
“When the Showtime 6 movie theater closed down, we had been able to continue with business as usual, but unfortunately we were recently given notice by the property managers that they have a potential tenant who is interested in our space, and we may have to shut our doors,” explained Erica Revis, board of directors president for the Sparta Community Chorus. “They are still working out the details, so we do not know for sure if this will happen, but we have been asked to hold off on scheduling any shows past October until they have more answers. I’m sure you can imagine the overwhelming concern and sadness that we have been feeling over this news.”
