On April 23, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department announced an arrest following their investigation into the barn fires at the Robert Farm on LL Road in rural Monroe County. It was noted that investigators determined that the fires were intentionally set.
There were two fires at the farm this year, on Jan. 1 and again on April 6.
The Jan. 1 fire took place around 4:49 p.m. Responding to the fire were the Red Bud, Hecker, Baldwin and Prairie du Rocher Fire Departments. In that fire, a barn was completely destroyed, resulting in the loss of multiple tractors, including antique equipment, as well as livestock.
