For the second time this month, on March 24, there was a sentencing hearing at the Randolph County court for aggravated driving under the influence resulting in a death.
This time, the hearing was for Tristan G.C. Vuichard, 22, of Sparta.
According to the accident report, on May 3, 2024, Vuichard, who was 20 at that time, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet truck and was in a rollover crash on Beattie Lane, just west of Schubach Road outside of Sparta.
Tyrese Fajardo, 15, of Sparta, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died as a result of the crash. Vuichard himself was transported to Saint Louis University Hospital for treatment of injuries; while two other passengers were transported to Sparta Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
