Purchasing equipment for the E-citation system was approved at Monday night’s Red Bud City Council meeting.
Red Bud Police Chief John Brittingham noted that the police department was switching to the newer E-citation system that is being utilized by Randolph County. Thanks to a grant secured by Randolph County Circuit Clerk Julie Carnahan, everything would be paid for except for the E-citation printers and paper the department would use.
The cost of each printer is $945. Brittingham said that with the E-citation account the circuit clerk’s office has already set up, the city has around $2,000 that they could utilize towards purchasing printers. He then said that they would need to spend around $6,000 more to get the rest of the printers needed.
