Cross Country Musketeers race best times of the season

On Saturday, our Runnin’ Musketeers participated in the annual Freeburg Invitational held at the Smithton Park. This is one of our largest meets of the season, with many 2A schools. The fast and flat course, combined with the level of competition, made for a memorable day! We ended the meet with five medalists, 10 new season best times, two new career best times and a third place team plaque for JV.

For Red Bud, the varsity girls team for this meet was strictly our juniors and seniors. True to this season’s theme, Ava and Addy stayed with the lead pack despite the fierce competition of such a large meet. Of the 136 girls in the varsity field, they medaled 13th and 15th overall and set new career best times of 19:58 (Ava) and 20:10 (Addy). At this same meet last year, Ava medaled 41st, just to give perspective on how far these young ladies have come in only their second season of cross country.
