River Travel Magazine has announced the finalists for their Best Holiday River Town Contest, with more than 70 towns nominated for the honor.
This contest focuses on the best “holiday towns” along the Great River Road, which spans from northern Minnesota down to the Gulf of Mexico. Hundreds nominated their favorite communities along the Great River Road and now have the chance to vote for the winner.
Communities were placed in categories based on population size, as well as a winner take all “overall” category.
Making the list in the 501-1,000 population category was Prairie du Rocher. And Red Bud made it to the finals in the 1,001-5,000 population category.
Voting runs through Dec. 20 and winners will be announced on Christmas Day.
