
Even though the number of active COVID-19 cases in the area continue to go down, three more deaths were reported in the past week.
Monroe County accounted for two of the deaths. Health Department Administrator John Wagner reported that county’s 15th death on Sept. 24, noting the individual “was an 82 year old male with underlying health conditions.”
On Sept. 27, he then reported the county’s 16th death. He stated that individual “was a female Oak Hill resident in her 80s.”
Randolph County Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout reported a death on Sept. 28, bringing the county’s total up to 12. No additional information about the individual was provided.
As for the total number of confirmed positive cases in Monroe County, Wagner reported on Sept. 29 that they were up to 692. Of those only 68 cases were active with two people hospitalized.
