River Travel Magazine has announced the finalists for their annual Best Holiday River Town Contest, with more than 75 towns from 10 states nominated for the honor.
This contest focuses on the best “holiday towns” along the Great River Road, which spans from northern Minnesota down to the Gulf of Mexico. Hundreds of people nominated their favorite communities along the Great River Road and now everyone has the chance to vote for the winner. Communities were placed in categories based on population size, as well as a winner take all “overall” category.
“Even with COVID affecting travel and the tourism industry, River Travel Magazine believes that holiday campaigns can still continue to shine a light on the amazing holiday attractions and communities along the Road,” they shared in a press release announcing this year’s finalists.
Making the list of finalists in the 501-1,000 population category was Prairie du Rocher; Red Bud made it to the finals in the 1,001-5,000 population category; and Chester is in the running in the 5,001-15,000 population category.
