COMING SOON–Pictured is an open area by the Sparta Community Airport that will soon be home to a new T-hangar building.
Good things are happening in at the Sparta Community Airport (KSAR) as they began construction on a new hangar earlier last month.
KSAR/Sparta Aero Services, Inc. Manager Scott Marquardt told the North County Newsthat this project has been in the works for approximately four years and construction started on May 11. It should be completed by December of this year.
He added that this project is actually three separate projects, all done in an effort to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
The main part of the project, of course, is the new six unit T-hangar building.
“The demand for aircraft hangars has always surpassed the supply,” Marquardt said. “There are at least a dozen aircraft owners on a waiting list for a hangar.”
The new hangar units will help to increase revenue to the airport. In addition, it is expected to increase operations, fuel sales and aircraft maintenance at the airport.
