Looking towards the future for Red Bud Elementary, the Red Bud Board of Education considered bids and options on relocating the elementary school’s ball fields at their April 16 meeting.
While there is no plan to expand the elementary school at the moment, if they were to expand in the future, the school’s baseball field, and possibly softball field, would need to be moved. And if the ball fields were moved, they also wanted to build a new concession stand with restrooms.
Right before the state went on lock down, the school board opted to seek bids for the project. The bids were opened earlier last week and then discussed at the board’s meeting. Most of the board attended the meeting in person, as it was moved to the high school gymnasium, while others participated or viewed the meeting through Zoom.
The board had received two bids for the project, from Nevois Construction, Inc. for $1,567,426 and Lake Contracting Inc. for $1,466,443.
