Rowold honored by American Legion Post

Red Bud resident and centenarian, Walter Rowold, received special recognition by the Steeleville American Legion Post 480 on March 24.

The Legion held their birthday dinner that evening and recognized their poster and essay contest winners, as well as presented 50 and 75 year membership awards. Rowold was recognized for having 75 years of continuous membership with the American Legion.

In addition to his award certificate, Rowold was presented a set of mini service medals. His daughter Marueen Liefer, who is a retired Navy nurse, had the medals professionally mounted for the presentation.
