
Last Thursday, Red Bud ran at an eight school invitational meet hosted by Chester at the Randolph County lake. Unique to this meet was a freshman/sophomore division in addition to the varsity. Red Bud boys and girls teams both placed first. Red Bud also took first place in the individual overall categories of fresh/soph girls with Simone Liefer, varsity girls/Adrienne Vallett and varsity boys/Nick Fehr. Top teams received plaques and top individuals received a plaque and a medal. All five varsity boys medaled and six of seven girls medaled.
For the girls team, receiving medals in the varsity division: leading the way again was Adrienne Vallett with an uncontested first place finish and a new personal best time. Coming in behind her in second place was Merideth Whelan and Kenzie Hahn was sixth. Medals in the fresh/soph division, (So) Simone Liefer lead the way with first, (Fr) Kamry Koester was fourth and (So) Anna Wolters placed fifth. Also running, and besting her previous finish on this course by four minutes, was (Fr) Harlie Braun.
