This year marks the tenth year that Red Bud Masonic Lodge #427 has held their redbud tree program. In the first year, 2010, the Masons gave a redbud tree to all students in kindergarten through eighth grades at the five area schools. That came to 825 trees the first year. Since then, the Masons have given a free redbud tree to all students in kindergarten for six area schools (Evansville Attendance Center was added in 2011). Overall, the Red Bud Masons have given out to youth in the community a total of 2,360 eastern redbud trees. They expect the program to continue and appreciate all the schools for their cooperation. Pictured are some of the Masons preparing the trees they gave out to students this year.
