
Over the past week, the number of active positive COVID-19 cases in the local area has either continued to drop or leveled out.
In Randolph County, Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout reported on Monday, May 25 that there were only 42 active cases. Of those, 39 were under quarantine at home and three were hospitalized. (For comparison, only a week prior on May 18, there were 53 active cases.)
She added that a total of 219 individuals had been released to resume normal activities. The total number of positive cases for the county has been 264, and there has only been three COVID-19 related deaths (the last being reported on May 11).
