With several downtown Red Bud restaurants closed recently for vacations and/or renovations, many joked that Red Bud had become a “food desert.” But, the fact is, Red Bud is flourishing with lots of excellent food options and other businesses, and people have noticed.
TheSt. Louis Post-Dispatchrecently held their 2019 “Best of Southwest Illinois” contest, looking to honor reader favorites in more than 100 categories. People could nominate their favorites from May 14 through June 2 and then vote on June 5-16. The winners will be published in a special issue of the St. Louis Post-Dispatchon July 28.
Regardless of who the final winners are, Red Bud (and Ruma) certainly came out on top with 40 entries making it into the final round.
