New movie has local connection

For those seeking a family friendly movie to watch, on Tuesday of this week a new movie with local connections became available on multiple streaming services.

Cadia: The World Withinis labeled as an independent (indie) family fantasy film and it became available on Sept. 15. 

According to the movie’s website, www.cadiafilm.com, it “is the story of Matthew, David and Renee Addams, three 14 year olds whose journey into a mystical realm teaches them about grace, love, doubt and the nature of good versus evil. Cadia makes for an entertaining and emotionally uplifting fantasy, one that provides hope and encourages philosophical discussion on how we interact with the world around us.”

Notable cast members include: Corbin Bernsen, famously known for his roles inLA LawMajor LeaguePsychand more, as well as having been a two time nominee for both the Golden Globe Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards; and James Phelps, who played Fred Weasely in the Harry Pottermovies.

The feature film was written and directed by Cedric Gegel. While Gegel himself isn’t from the local area, he has family here and one of the characters in the movie is based after his grandfather who was a life long Baldwin resident.
