The 23rd Annual Illinois USSSA Hall of Fame banquet was held Nov. 10 in Rockford and a local inductee was Mark Luttman of Red Bud.

The Illinois USSSA Hall of Fame was created in 1994 to acknowledge and honor those persons whose efforts and accomplishments have helped promote Illinois USSSA and make it one of the top programs nationwide and the most prominent Slow Pitch and fastest-growing Fast Pitch program in Illinois. These elite players and teams have inspired others to reach the top level of participation on a State and National level. The organization has inducted 178 individuals, six Lifetime Achievement members and 13 Hall of Honor teams who have participated in the Illinois USSSA. This year an additional 10 were inducted including two female players, four male players, one sponsor, two pioneer players and one umpire. Luttman was inducted as a pioneer player.
